At CDCHS, we welcome and support a broad range of research interests and ideas. Our workshops, training sessions, and community events are open to all students, researchers, and practitioners working in psychology, behavioural science, and related fields — regardless of topic or methodology.

However, to guide our strategic development and external funding efforts, we focus on five key research areas. These priority areas reflect some of the most urgent and under-explored questions affecting well-being across the lifespan — and they will shape our internal projects, grant applications, and small grant awards.
We aim to better understand the emotional, physiological, and social dimensions of women's health across the lifespan — from reproductive health, hormonal transitions to caregiving responsibilities, work-related experiences, and access to care.
Women's Health
Men's Loneliness
Loneliness among men remains under-discussed and under-researched. We explore the unique ways that men navigate isolation, social connection, and emotional expression across life stages and life circumstances.
Young People & Digital Literacy
Young people are navigating increasingly complex digital environments. We study how digital content affects emotion, attention, identity formation, and social belonging — and how we can support healthy digital habits.
Stress &
Burnout
From environmental stressors to everyday pressures, we examine the psychological and physiological effects of stress. This includes understanding the impact of climate change, societal turmoil, family struggles, workplace expectations, and more.
Healthy
Aging
We explore how people experience aging, especially in rapidly changing societies. Our focus includes changes in family structures, social role, social connection, life purpose, and access to supportive resources in later life.
