


Alma Jeftić, Ph.D
Dr. Alma Jeftić is a social psychologist whose work focuses on war trauma, wellbeing, peacebuilding, and collective memory. She is currently a Scientific Collaborator at the Swiss Center for Affective Sciences at the University of Geneva and a Research Fellow at the Peace Research Institute of International Christian University in Tokyo.
Alma is a long-standing member of APA Division 48 (Society for the Study of Peace, Conflict, and Violence), where she has served in multiple leadership roles and contributes to peace psychology initiatives internationally.
She is the 2025 recipient of the SPSP International Bridge-Building Award, recognizing her global contributions to collaborative and inclusive psychological science. Alma is also the co-founder of ABRIR, an initiative dedicated to expanding representation and capacity building for Majority-World scholars in big-team and open science projects.
In her homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alma served as President of the Sarajevo Subsidiary of the Association of Psychologists of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, supporting professional development, standards of practice, and community engagement. She was also a member of the SIPS IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access) Committee, contributing to equity-driven reform in scientific practice.
Alma is the author of Social Aspects of Memory (Routledge), and her work spans experimental, longitudinal, and intervention-based research in post-conflict societies.
